1. Getting an adjustment hurts.
Getting a chiropractic adjustment may
cause some discomfort, but it is not as
painful as some people believe. Many
individualsexperience significant
relief after receiving an adjustment.
Despite some initial nervousness,
particularly among children and
some adults, there is nothing to be
concerned about. Chiropractors have a
deep understanding of the skeletal,
nervous, and muscular systems, allowing
them to identify the source of problems
and make adjustments to alleviate pain.
2. Once I start, I will have to go for the rest of my life.
It is a common misconception that once you start chiropractic treatment, you have to continue for the rest of your life. This is not true. Many patients with acute issues find relief after a few visits, while some individuals choose to continue with ongoing care to improve their vitality and well-being. At Back By Design, there is no pressure for return visits, and the frequency of your care is entirely up to you.
3. It is too expensive.
Some believe that chiropractic care is too expensive, but in comparison to visits to medical doctors, it can be more affordable. Considering long-term treatment plans that can involove medication, surgery, or intensive physical therapy, chiropractic care can often provide a less expensive, natural, healthy alternative.
As of March 2022, Back By Design accepts Medicare only, and an adjustment costs $50.00. You can receive a receipt to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
New patients also receive

4. I am too old (or young)
for chiropractic to help.
Significant spinal trauma is
usually subtle and can occur at
any age (especially during the
birth process). Naturally, chiropractic adjusting procedures are modified for the specific person's condition and age. Chiropractic has been shown to be helpful with most "normal" childhood health problems from colic to scoliosis and is effective in reducing many causes of arthritis.
5. Chiropractic is only for bad backs. I have a different problem.
Chiropractic care is not limited to treating back pain. While pain may be a primary symptom, untreated joint misalignments can lead to escalated symptoms. The goal of chiropractic care is to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and restore full body function. Subluxation of the spine can also cause secondary symptoms such as digestive, sinus, respiratory, or mood issues, as well as headaches or migraines.
